If you use Bank of America's iPhone app to deposit checks, beware. You could lose thousands of dollars, because though the app tells you that your deposits go through, the bank may later disallow. Depositing a Check is simple, with our Bank of America mobile banking app Start by opening your app, signing into your account and selecting 'Deposit Checks.' Then, take a picture of the front and back of the endorsed check with your smartphone or tablet.
Go to the website of your bank or credit union to see whether it offers mobile check deposit. If it does, the website will often provide a download link to the bank's mobile app. Download the app onto a mobile device with a camera: Android, iPhone, and Windows devices are typically supported. Existing Bank of America credit cardholders, check to see if you have received an email offer from Bank of America for a chance to earn a $10 bonus. To qualify for the bonus, you must first download the Bank of America mobile banking app. Next, you must deposit a check or pay a bill using the app by June 2nd, 2019.

Secure messaging is currently not available in the app but will be available in a future enhancement.
Is the email option available in the app a secure way to send information about my account?
No, the email option in the app should only be used for general questions or product information.
You should never enter your account number, login credentials or other non-public information in a
regular email.
How does the new feature of connecting to an institution work?
Connecting to an institution allows you to view your account information at other participating
financial institutions. Not all banks participate, so if your bank is not in the top 25 pick list you can try
entering your bank name in the search field. If your bank participates it will ask you to enter the login
credentials you use for that bank. If the bank does not participate, you will receive a message stating
“We don’t recognize this institution”.
